Hello everybody, This is Cozi. Sorry for my silence for a while .. Today I have a great news to announce.
My new album ‘ Cinemadelica ‘ will be released from Liquid Sound Design ( Known as L.S.D ) , beloved & respected pioneer British label In Psychill sphere, in early 2024.
If I can humbly confess, I am beyond the proud just because I will be the first female producer who will drop 100% self produced album including final mixing .. From this institution.
( 日本語は下) ‘ To one day release a self-produced solo album on L.S.D .. ‘ has been my absolute dream for over 20 years, ever since the debut of Zen Lemonade, a unit with my ex husband Gus Till on Dragonfly Records – L.S.D’s parent label also a pioneer label in the psychedelic trance scene – in 2002.
I have a decent length of discography with Dragonfly Records and L.S.D both since the start of 21century. Listed here for those who is interested to dig the behind story a bit more.
For Psy-Trance dance floors, Zen Lemonade first released an old school Acid House vibe Psy-Trance ‘ Squeeze Your Karma ‘ on a compilation ‘ Order Odonata Vol.5 ‘ ( 2000 ), then a moody downtempo ‘ Die Ashanti ( ‘ The Ashanti ‘ in German ) ‘ on a Chillout compilation ‘ Mana Medicine ‘ ( 2001), then debut vinyl ‘ Pussy Galore ‘( 2001 ) , followed by our debut album ‘ Lemon Soul ‘ ( 2001 ), alongside with various dance compilations : Kamaflage ( 2001 ), Touchin’ Bass ( 2002 ). They also released Gus’s new album under the name BUS in 2022, with 5 Psy-Trance tunes I co-produced with him during our 17 year marriage.
L.S.D released Chill side of Zen Lemonade on few more occasions which were : Downtempo compilation ‘ Unity Dub’s Voyage Into Paradise ‘ (2002) and EP of Gus’s rework & re-master version & Remixes of our popular Bali-vibe Chillout tune ‘ Chilldome Refugees ‘ (2020) we collaborated with Sytem7.
For my solo activity, Label founder Youth featured the last piece of music I produced in Bali, Jazzy-Psybass chill ‘ Cosmic Traveller feat. Kamau Abayomi ‘ on his Downtempo Compilation ‘ Music To Get High To ‘ ( 2018 ) . L.S.D also released debut EP of Congas Atlas , a Psychedelic Downtempo unit of a French producer / Goa-Trance pioneer Blue Planet Corporation and myself in 2021 with a Bandcamp only special PDF booklet featuring a mini-SF story by me, 1 chapter per tune, to add more deep background understandings on our concept. In private life, Youth had been a very good friend since I moved to UK from Japan in 2000. Invited Gus and I with our baby son to his bohemian spirited house in Nappy Valley in South West London, and after dinner chat in his arts & objects filled cozy living room stimulated my mind with his profound insights relating to Celtic culture and Druids in it’s ancient Celtic time, Arts & Music, Hippie culture and Summer of Love, and so on .. Oh, not to forget he attended to our wild wild wedding in the middle of the beautiful field of Devon ( 4 hour train journey from London) in 2001 April that supported by another UK Psy-Trance pioneer label Flying Rhino Records family whom professionally did set up a sound system and a straw fluffed dance floor in the barn of a local friend’s farm, with label founder DJs James Monro, George Barker and Dominic Lamb were playing DJ sets in turn, and hundreds of guests danced the night away. ….
Also many catch up occasions at Festivals inc. Samothraki Dance Festival 2001 & 2002 ( Greece ), also annual artists gathering which he organized in his private studio property Space Mountain Festival 2019 & 2017 ( Both near Granada, Spain ) & Online edition of it in 2020 during world wide Covid outbreak. Label director of Dragonfly Records and L.S.D, Robin Triskle was there on all Space Mountain gathering, supporting captain Youth as she always does, and we excitedly chatted about exciting plans in near future …
So … Release a solo album from this mothership … was a long due and one of the life-goals I wanted to achieve for many years.
But I am a slow learner, and the winding path to reach to this mountain peak .. Had been a very very long way. Keeping fire of motivation for so long .. was never being a problem for me, because i don’t know how to live without creative works , but comes along was all other mental challenges caused by life’s events and process itself to find my own path as an underground artist which often accompanied by depression. And not to mention the countless battles with my own technical limitations. I confess that I often even wondered we women are not designed for this kind of work.
But now seems a fruit is ripening at last. I hope I’m evolved enough to give you a bit of surprises.
And … This is what I want to tell you the most. When I received this incredible news from the label, I felt like a great weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Because I know I’ve always been a bit of an outlier in the scene, a bit outside the trending genres, releasing so many different styles of music. It must have been very confusing for some of my followers. Nevertheless, there were always people who appreciated what I was doing and gently pushed me to continue.
So I would like to express my sincere BIG THANK YOU.
Firstly, to my two old friends and mentors, Youth and label director Robin Triskele, for lighting the green light on my beacon. And to my ex-husband Gus Till/ BUS/ Slinky Wizard, who taught me so much in the studio during our 17 years of marriage and kept encouraging me to keep working, and Robin who unconditionally supported my dream since I moved to Nice, and to all of you reading this here now, who also have liked or took a minute to leave a comments on my Facebook / Insta posts, YouTube, Soundcloud etc.
Because of you, I never felt alone.
´ Cinemadelica ‘ will be full of cinematic Downtempo / Chillout with essence of Ambient, Jazz, Classical music and Film sound tracks, and of course, Good dose of Psychedelia in my way. Anyone who enjoyed ‘ Cap Ferrat ‘ ‘ See You On The Other Side ‘ ‘ Nebula to Nebula ‘ ‘ Cosmic Traveller ‘ and my ambient tunes, you will find something to love I reckon. Musicians from Nice, Bulgaria and Ukraine are also featured on album and the organic atmosphere is overflowing, can’t wait to deliver to you.

私のニューアルバム『Cinemadelica』が2024年初頭にサイチル界のパイオニアレーベルである英国の Liquid Sound Design からリリースされることになりました！！
世界中のチルアウト音楽ファンから長くリスペクトされるL.S.Dから、最終ミックスまでを含む100％セルフ・プロデュースのアルバムをリリースする女性プロデューサーはレーベル史上初めてという事なので、信じられないほど光栄に思います。
『いつかL.S.Dからセルフ・プロデュースのソロ・アルバムをリリースする』ことは、2000年にL.S.Dの親レーベルであり、サイケデリック・トランス・シーンのパイオニアでもある Dragonfly Records から、元夫のガス・ティルとのユニット Zen Lemonade としてデビューして以来、20年以上にわたる私の究極の夢でした。
更にいうならば、私は21世紀に入ってからドラゴンフライレコードとL.S.Dと共に多数のディスコグラフィーを築いてきたとも言えます。

Psy-Tranceダンスフロアのために、Zen Lemonadeはまずオールドスクールなアシッド・ハウス・ヴァイブのPsy-Trance『Squeeze Your Karma』が、シーンへ私達を紹介する楽曲としてコンピレーション『Order Odonata Vol.5』（2000年）に収録される形で世に出ました。次にムーディーなダウンテンポの『Die Ashanti』（ドイツ語で「The Ashanti」）がチルアウト・コンピレーション『Mana Medicine』（2001年）に収録されました。
そしてデビューシングルVinyl『Pussy Galore』（2001年）とデビュー・アルバム『Lemon Soul』（2001年）がリリースされ、また同時期に『Kamaflage』 ( 2001 )、『Touchin’ Bass』 ( 2002 )などのゴアトランス・コンピレーションにも参加するなど、当時のリリース頻度はかなり密でした。
また、2022年にガスがニュー・アルバムをBUS名義でリリースした際には、17年間の結婚生活の中で私が彼と共同プロデュースした5曲のサイ・トランス・チューンが収録されました。
L.S.DはZen Lemonadeのチル楽曲も数回リリースしていて、上述のコンピのほか、ダウンテンポ・コンピレーション『Unity Dub’s Voyage Into Paradise』(2002)や、System7とコラボレートしたバリ・ヴァイヴのチルアウト・チューン『Chilldome Refugees』(2020)のガスによるリワーク＆リマスタリング・ヴァージョン＆リミックスのEPなどが出ています。
私のソロ活動では、レーベル創設者のYouthが、私がバリ島で製作した最後の楽曲となったジャジーなサイベース・チル『Cosmic Traveller feat. Kamau Abayomi 』を彼のダウンテンポ・コンピレーション『Music To Get High To』 ( 2018 ) に収録してくれました。

プライベートでは、2000年に私が日本から英国に移住して以来、ユースはとても良い友人でした。
ロンドン南西部のナッピー・バレーにある彼のボヘミアン・スピリット溢れる家に、赤ん坊の息子を連れたガスと私を招待してくれた事も複数回ありました。夕食後にアートやオブジェでいっぱいの居心地の良いリビングルームで会話を楽しみながら、ケルト文化や古代ケルト時代のドルイド、アート＆ミュージック、ヒッピー文化、サマー・オブ・ラブなどに関する彼の深い洞察で私の心を刺激してくれました。あ、あと2001年4月にロンドンから列車で4時間のデヴォン州の美しい野原で行われたガスと私のワイルドな結婚式に出席してくれたことも忘れてはならない … 。UKサイトランス黎明期における重要レーベルの１つであったフライング・ライノ・レコードのファミリーが殆どの部分をオーガナイズしてくれたこの結婚式では、地元の友人の農場の納屋にサウンド・システムと敷き詰められた藁でフカフカのダンス・フロアを彼らがセットアップしてくれ、ジェームス・モンローやジョージ・バーカー、ドミニク・ラムなど創始者DJ陣が入れ代わり立ち代わりDJセットをプレイし、何百人ものゲストが一晩中踊り明かした….。
その他にも沢山のフェスでキャッチアップしたものです。サモスラキ・ダンス・フェスティバル2001＆2002（ギリシャ）、彼自身が年に一度、彼のプライベート・スタジオの敷地内で開催し、アーティストのギャザリングでもあるスペース・マウンテン・フェスティバル２０１９＆２０１７（いずれもスペイン、グラナダ近郊）、そして世界的なコロナ流行中の2020年に行われた、このユニークなギャザリングのオンライン版もあった。ドラゴンフライレコードとL.S.Dのレーベル・ディレクターを務めるロビン・トリスクルは全てのスペース・マウンテン・ギャザリングに参加し、いつものようにキャプテン・ユースをサポートしていたっけ…….
というわけで、、この母船からソロアルバムをリリースすることは…… 私の長年の悲願であり、達成したかった人生の目標のひとつだったのですね。
しかし、私は学ぶのが遅く、この山頂に到達するまでの曲がりくねった道は、とても長い道のりだった。
長い間モチベーションを保つことは、私にとって問題ではなかったです。創作活動なしにどうやって生きていけばいいのかわからないから。
しかし、人生における様々な出来事や、アンダーグラウンド・アーティストとしての自分自身の道を見つける過程で、しばしばうつ病を伴う精神的な試練もありました。
そして、自分自身の技術的限界との数え切れないほどの戦いは言うまでもなく、、、
白状してしまうと、私たち女性はこの種の仕事には向いていないのではないかと葛藤する事すらもしばしばありました。
しかし今、ようやく果実は熟しつつあるようです。
皆さんにちょっとした驚きを与えられるような進化を遂げていることを願っています。
そして．．．これが最もお伝えしたい事です。
レーベルからこの信じられないような知らせを受けた時、私は重い肩の荷が下りたような気がしました。というのも、私はシーンの中では常に異端児であり、トレンドのジャンルから少し外れたところにいて、実に様々なスタイルの音楽をリリースしてきたからです。私のフォロワーの何人かは、とても混乱したに違いない。
それでも、私のやっていることを評価してくれて、続けるように背中をそっと押してくれる人たちがいつもいてくれた。
という事で、心から感謝の気持ちを伝えたいと思います。
まず、私のビーコンに緑色の火を灯してくれた2人の旧友でありメンターであるユースとレーベル・ディレクターのロビン・トリスクルに。そして17年間の結婚生活の間、スタジオで多くのことを教えてくれ、仕事を続けるよう励まし続けてくれた元夫のガス、ニースに越して以来献身的に私の夢をサポートしてくれたロビン、そして今ここでこれを読んでくださっている皆さんに！
皆さんのおかげで、私は決して孤独を感じることはありませんでした。
