What is ‘ Summer of Love ‘ ? Conscious leaping trail of 60’s -90’s-2020
The festival was organized by Youth ( Who launched the world’s first Psy-Trance label Dragonfly Records in the early ’90s, and my Psy-Trance unit Zen Lemonade released debut album ‘ Lemon Soul ‘ in 2002 from the label ) and South London Art Lab crew. Originally, the ‘Summer of Love’ movement began in the summer of 1967 with anti-Vietnam War activities in Europe and the United States. It was born and grew to involve hippies, artists, intellectuals and even politicians. The philosophy of rejecting the existing system and ‘ Profit first ‘ industrial / social structure, and build a completely new way of life in the more organic social ecosystem that based on the sustainability, love, war-free foreign policy etc, was the foundation of the movement. Millions of people around the world received revelation during movement, and started experimental life style that based on love, peace and freestyle and sustainability. As the result, movement became a unique but an important part of history as a quantum leap of human consciousness.
The reason why did the ’90s Psy-trance culture being called as ‘Summer of Love Revival ‘, was largely inspired by the fact that many people in the scene understood the philosophy and taken it as their own DNA, and live experimental life on their own with it in mind. It was a scene that brought together group of travelers, DJs and producers who fully enjoyed the positive effect of airplanes and the internet that have made it possible for truth seekers and adventurers all over the world to build their own networks and communities. ‘ The Scenes ‘ spontaneously grew in very organic way simultaneously in every corner of the earth. There was a fantastically diverse and fully energetic scene in Japan as well that had led by now legendary party-organizers such as Equinox, Solstice, Anoyo, Vitamin Q, Matsuri, and more ( See ‘ 90’s Summer of Love ‘ in Japan ) .
Short Back ground story of ’90’s Summer Of Love’ in Japan 90’s Japan was struggling with post-bubble depression, but still many western travelers made months long visit in Japan as a part of their nomadic life between Goa, Bali, Ko Phangan, etc and working with temporary job to earn quick money to keep going their nomadic life style. Also Cozi found unique charm and pain-mixed colorful prism among Japanese people she met during this period, whom were living life as outcasts, travelers & hippies, struggling artists, under ground hipsters. These encounter gave a massive inspiration to young Cozi, and she began to captured their life style with an old Nikon camera and compiled photo albums as ‘ Tokyo Nomad ‘ until she left Tokyo in 1999 December, also wrote a novel based on her experience during period ( Novel never been published until now) .
The spirit of our scene never dies no matter how crazy the world gets. It’s time to re-connect again, and dance around the planet.

Words by Youth ( Founder of Dragonfly Records / L.S.D) To prime us for the Solstice Eclipse and New Moon, and the full on cosmic power shift on Sunday, The Arts Lab has come together to help us celebrate and usher in a new Aquarian age of peace and love . Why now ? as the world is full of turmoil, disharmony and confusion. However, the first summer of love in ‘67 was also set to a similar dark backdrop in society and culture.
Jim Haynes founded the original Arts Lab in 1967 in London (we are lucky enough to have a couple of original members to discuss the vibes) and this directly led to the Summer Of Love happening. There was more to it than just The Kings Road, Mary Quant and The Beatles. A complete Revolution of thought came into focus here.
Sexual liberation, Sexual discrimination, Gender, Race, Civil Rights, Ecology/ Climate Change, Drug Law Reformation, Free Education ( The London Free School set up by Hoppy ), Anti Globalisation. Everything came together and combined through a psychedelic prism of Eastern Mysticism and left wing politics to create the Counter Culture, that still resonates today, as most of the protest issues now are still these same issues and difference is today, we no longer accept authority without question.
Imagine if that 60’s summer of love and the acid house one in the 80’s, had never happened ! What a bleak and grey world we would looking out on today, even more so than it is now and that’s why it’s important to do it again…..and again and again.
Never before has the world needed a Revolution Of Love like we do now. This Dionysian /Druid ‘60’s energy is ancient and timeless and will always return when the world really needs it …But you have to believe and dream big, believe that truth will prevail and the lies will fail. We can change the world and we must, if we all work together, everything is possible. ❤️✌️

イギリス時間午前１０時（日本時間午後５時）スタートで、初めはヨガやアートやカルチャーについてのトーク。オーブのアレックスのセットが日本時間午前１−２時、その後サイモン・ポスフォード（シュポングル）日本時間午前２−３時、私が日本時間午前３−４時。私の後のドレッドゾーンは日本ではあまり知られていないけど、ガウディと並んでUKダブエレクトロニックの重鎮です。めっちゃファンキーでイギリスっぽいダブ・テクノ、ダブ・ハウス。おすすめです。
ドラゴンフライとL.S.D (ドラゴンフライのチルアウトレーベル）のレーベル・ダイレクターであるロビン・トリスクル ( 彼女は去年、サーフィーブラザースのガブリエルとシナジー・ダブというサイダブ系ユニットを始めてそれもすごくいいです！）もすごくいいし、モリス師匠（日本時間日曜朝６時）は説明不要ですね。日本時間の２１日／日曜朝８時からサイチルの大御所であるサーフィー・ブラザースのソロ名義ガブリエル・ル・マーがドイツの自宅スタジオからアシッド・テクノを、そして発起人Youthがスペインはアンダルシアの魔法山スタジオから、最後は私の元夫ガス・ティルがバリ島からクロージングセット、、とまさに国際色豊かなイヴェントになります。
このフェスは世界初のサイトランスレーベルであるドラゴンフライ・レコード（私と元夫ガス・ティルによるサイトランス・ユニット、ゼン・レモネードのデビューアルバム’ Lemon Soul ‘もそこから２００２年にリリースされています）を９０年代初期に立ち上げたユースや、サウス・ロンドン・アートラボによるもの。
サマー・オブ・ラブとは？
もともと’ サマー・オブ・ラブ ’ムーブメントは１９６７年夏に欧米で反ベトナム戦争活動から生まれ、ヒッピーたちやアーティスト、知識人、政治家たちまで巻き込んで大きくなったもの。既存のシステムや利権構造を否定し、愛と平和とフリースタイルを軸に生きていこうという理念を世界中の人々が実践し、表現して、歴史の一部になったムーブメントです。９０年代、世界同時に自然発生したサイトランス文化が‘ サマー・オブ・ラブの再来 ’と言われたのは、その理念をDNAとして受け継ぎ、実験的な生を‘生きている’トラベラーやDJたち、プロデューサー群が集結したシーンだったから。飛行機やネットのおかげで世界中でひとびとが独自のネットワークを築くことが可能になり、地球の隅々でシーンが産声をあげ、育っていきました。ポストバブル期だった日本においてもEquinox, Solstice, Anoyo, Vitamin Q, Matsuriなどの非常に創造的でデコや音質にも徹底的にこだわった世界トップクラスのオーガナイザーたちが切磋琢磨し、シーンを牽引していました。そこに世界中から訪れたトラヴェラー達やアーティストなんかも口コミで参加し、ともに盛り上げていった素晴らしくオリジナルでコスモポリタンなシーンがあったんです。その頃の写真はこちら。
で、２０２０年、、、。政治の世界でも音楽界でも、コロナ禍でリーダーとしての素質が浮き彫りになった。‘嵐が過ぎさるのをじっと待って様子見’なのか、‘過去と未来を繋げたヴィジョンをリアルな言葉やアクションを通して伝えられる’人なのか。
ユースには自分自身や自分主催レーベルの宣伝とかいう浅い動機を超えたヴィジョンがある。いつだってそうだ。だから９０年代に世界で初めてのサイトランス・レーベルのドラゴンフライを作って以来、ずっとファンから愛されその言動はシーンをインスパイアしてきた。彼がスペインの自宅スタジオから発信し続けるアートラボ・ムーヴメントに世界の名だたるアーティストたちがヴォランティアで参加し続けているのも彼のヴィジョンに賛同するからです。
土曜日のフェスは日本時間午後５時のスタートと同時に世界中からクラウドがズームにログインしてくると思う。前回も最高だった！居間やキッチンで一人で、パートナーと、キッズと、、思いおもいに楽しみ踊っている様子が見えた。日本の皆さんも是非。見られるのが嫌なら自分はオフカメラにして楽しむのも可能です。飛行機は飛んでないけど、世界中のサイトライブ仲間とリアルに繋がっているのが実感できるはず。FBからも観れるけど音が切れるし通して見れないからオススメしない。世界からの参加者も見れないし、、というわけでログインは上のリンクから入ってね！会えるの楽しみにしてるよ！ZOOMでは一度に１，０００人しか入室できないそうなのでお早めに！もちろん入室しないでもフェスは各リンクから楽しめます。

ジム・ヘインズが1967年にロンドンでアーツ・ラボの原型を設立して(幸運にも僕らはオリジナル・メンバーを何人か知っていて当時のバイブを話してくれるんだ！) 、これがサマー・オブ・ラブのハプニングに直結した。キングス・ロード（対抗文化のシンボル的エリア）やマリークワント（６０年代のモッズをはじめとした対抗文化を代表するアイコン的ファッションデザイナー）、ビートルズをはるかに超えた大きな何かが起こっていた。思想に革命をもたらすこと、が至上の目的だった。
性的解放、性差別、ジェンダーや人種、公民権、エコロジー・気候変動、麻薬法改革、自由教育（ホッピーが設立したロンドン・フリースクールなど）、反グローバリゼーション。すべてが一緒になって、東洋の神秘主義と左派リベラル政治のサイケデリックなプリズムを介して結合され、カウンターカルチャー（対抗文化）を形成し 、今でも共鳴続けている。現在人々が抗議している問題のほとんどは過去と同じものだけれど、今回ハッキリと違うのは、僕らはもはや疑問を持たずに統治システムを受け入れることはしないってことなんだ。
もし60年代のサマー・オブ・ラブや80年代のアシッド・ハウスが起こらなかったらと想像してみてくれ! なんと殺伐とした灰色の世界を僕らは見なければならなかっただろう、、 今ほどそれが求められる時期はないように思うし、だからこそ、僕らは何度もやらなければならない、、もう一度、そしてまた再び。
世界が今ほど 愛による革命を必要としたことがかつてあっただろうか。
６０年代のディオニュシアン（古代ギリシャ神話の酒神が起源。枠を外れた 人生哲学者たち）やドルイド（古代ケルト族が信仰したドルイド教の祭司）のエネルギーは古代のものであると同時にタイムレスで、世界が本当にそれを必要とすればいつだって表層に出てくるものなんだ、、、
でも君はそれを信じなくちゃいけないし、夢は大きく持たなきゃいけない。
真実は最後には勝ち、嘘は駆逐されるだろう。

Je vais jouer une heure de DJ set freestyle sur le festival de streaming ZOOM Summer of love 2020 ( 10h-2h du matin heure britannique ) ce samedi 20th June !! Mon set sera de 19h à 20h, heure du Royaume-Uni, marathon de musique avec Mixmaster Morris, Orb, Shpongle, Youth, mon ex : Gus Till, Gabriel Le Mar etc etc . Vous devez nous rejoindre en mode “fête”, ils vous mettront sur la sellette. Je vous recommande vivement de vous inscrire via ZOOM. Le FB est bien, mais le son sera coupé de temps en temps et vous ne pourrez pas tout regarder. De plus, vous ne pouvez pas voir beaucoup d’autres fêtards qui dansent dans leur salon et leur cuisine !
