Fearless

( 日本語は下 ) ” Fearless ” is an EP with 3 cover remixes of an iconic song in 70’s by a Psychedelic Rock legend PINK FLOYD.
EP contain 3 remixes including her own, an organic electronica by a British electronic unit Animat, and more dubbed version by mcthfg.
Cozi sang as the first time for years and recording was done in her home studio in Nice Cote d’Azur in 2020 July.
EP was released from a pioneer label of UK Dub-tronica scene Dubmission Records whom has extending back catalogues by diverse artists including GAUDI ( UK ), Pitch Black ( NZ ).

” What can I say about 2020 .. ? Many of us found ourselves like a driftwood in the ocean of despair, floating with no sense of the direction, just waiting tomorrow’s wave that eventually get us to the unknown shore. But also we witnessed huge tidal waves of bravely and courage of the humanity, fighting back to the doomed seeds of perish, racism, rise of fascism. Those movements were demonstrated not only on the real street, but also largely, online. We all heard the voices on the millions of flat screens in the millions rooms around the world, ascending and rising like countless quiet bonfires. Who haven’t inspired by them ?

When Christopher ( mcthfg ) asked me if I want to sing on a cover of my favorite song of Pink Floyd whom I admire for so many years, I said yes even I don’t count myself as a singer ( I do sing every few years, but my passion is music production itself and my voice isn’t necessity ingredient all the time ! ). Because … I wanted to participate myself to Covid-time movements in my way with a perfect song that embodies the spirit of 2020 … And wow, what a trip ! I’m totally humbled and amazed by the fact it’s lyrics and melody are still so connecting with our era, undoubtedly lite the light of positiveness in our heart, 50 years later since it’s original release in 1971.

EP include a beautiful, beautiful remix by Animat ( Mark Daly & Michael Harding ). Sadly Michael past away on 15th Jan and today ( EP’s release date / 2021 Feb 5th ) is his funeral in UK. Mark told me that this EP was the last work they did together, and I feel so humbled and honoured to be a part of his remarks on this planet. Thank you for the inspiration. Rest of us will carry on the music path even though it’s a hard rocky road for all of us …

” Fearless “は、サイケデリック・ロック界のレジェンド、PINK FLOYDの70年代を代表する名曲のカヴァーリミックスを3曲収録したEPだ。
彼女自身のリミックス、イギリスのエレクトロニック・ユニットAnimatによるオーガニック・エレクトロニカ、さらにmchfgによるダブ・バージョンを含む3つのリミックスを収録している。
ヴォーカルは彼女が担当し、2020年7月にニース・コートダジュールの自宅スタジオでレコーディングが行われた。
GAUDI ( UK )やPitch Black ( NZ )など、様々なアーティストの作品をリリースしているイギリスのダブトロニカ・シーンのパイオニア的レーベル、ダブミッション・レコードからリリースされた。

” 2020年について何て言えばいいのかな？ 私たちの多くは、絶望の海に浮かぶ流木のような自分自身を発見し、方向性も分からずに、ただ未知の岸辺に運んでくれるであろう明日の波を待っていたよね。しかし同時に私たちは、破滅への種、人種差別、ファシズムの台頭などに立ち向かう人類の勇気の大波を目の当たりにもした。これらの動きは、実際の街頭だけでなく、大部分はオンラインでうねりを大きくした。世界中の何百万もの部屋の、何百万ものフラットスクリーンに映し出された声が、数え切れないほどの静かな焚き火のように上昇していくのを、私たちは誰もが耳にした。誰が彼らに触発されないで済むと思う？

クリストファー( mcthfg )から、長年尊敬しているピンクフロイドのカバーを歌わないかと聞かれた時、私は自分を歌手とは思っていない ( 数年に一度は歌っているけど、私の情熱は音楽制作そのものであり、私の声は常に音楽に必要な食材ではないと思ってる)にもかかわらず、迷わずイエスと答えた。なぜならば、、 私は２０２０年の精神を体現する完璧な曲において、私のやり方で、コロナの時代のムーブメントに自分自身を参加させたいと思ったから　… そして、なんというトリップだったことか！1971年のオリジナル・リリースからちょうど５０年経った今でも、この曲の歌詞とメロディーがどんなにぴったりと時代のスピリットを表現し、私たちの心にポジティブな光を灯してくれることか。その事実に驚愕とともに謙虚さを感じずにはいられない。

EPにはアニマット ( マーク・デイリー & マイケル・ハーディング ) による美しいリミックスが収録されている。悲しいことにマイケルは1月15日に他界し、今日（EPのリリース日、2021年2月5日）は彼の葬儀がイギリスで行われた。マークは、このEPが彼らの最後の作品だと言っていたけれど、私はこの地球上で彼が残した仕事の一部になれたことをとても光栄に思ってる。インスピレーションをありがとう。私たち残りの者たちは、それが私たちの全員にとって過酷な道であっても、音楽とのジャーニーを粛々と続けていきます。
